Surf City Soroptimists of Huntington Beach Celebrate GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for the purposes of hashtag activism, is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is touted as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world”  (source: Wikipedia)

GivingTuesday was initiated in 2012 by Henry Timms at the 92nd Street Y in New York. The co-founding organization was the United Nations Foundation with support from BLK SHP (Black Sheep). (source: Wikipedia

This year GivingTuesday will be celebrated on November 29th.  Please consider making a donation of any size or sponsoring a Live Your Dream Award, a cash grant given to a woman who is head of her household and is enrolled in or accepted into an undergraduate program, a vocational or trade school or a certification program, for only $1500. Or, if you live in Orange County, join us…at a fundraiser (Bunco coming up November 17)…at a meeting…as a member!

Thank you for supporting Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach in our mission to improve the lives of women & girls through access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment!
