On February 22, Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach awarded Live Your Dream Awards to 15 amazing women, head of household with one or more dependents, who are going to school to improve their lives and the lives of their children.
We were blessed to have over 90 people join us for this life-changing event including the mayor of Huntington Beach and also Huntington Beach council member, Natalie Moser.
All were treated to a wonderful meal catered by Kherut, a nonprofit employing women who are survivors of human trafficking, which included special “Live Your Dream” cookies.
The Live Your Dream award is an education grant given to women, head of household, who are enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate college or university, a vocational or trade school or a certification program.
This year’s awardees’ educational pursuits ranged from early childhood development to nursing to business administration, medical diagnostic testing, health information management, teaching and more.
