Soroptimist is an international organization of women who work to improve the lives of women and girls. Soroptimist helps other women and girls by giving them the resources to create positive change—for themselves, their families, their communities and the world. In more than 120 countries and territories throughout the world, almost 100,000 Soroptimist members help women and girls live their dreams each and every day. In 2012, Soroptimists reported on 3,727 projects to promote women and girls’ participation in education and leadership, changing 110,000 lives.
Right here, in our community, SIHB has a strong, growing member base of dedicated women participating in a variety of programs throughout the year. We rely on contributions from our members and our community to help us sustain our level of commitment to other nonprofits and individuals.
Throughout the year, we have many opportunities for you to help us reach our goals:
Quest for the Best…for Women & Girls – our annual wine tasting & silent auction – October
Bunco – TBA
Program Meetings – the 4th Thursday of every month (dinner meeting)
“River” Walk to Make a Difference – June
General Donation – anytime
Your contributions will help us:
- Increase the number of women who receive cash, Live Your Dream Awards
- Expand the number of women who attend our Celebrate Yourself! A Day of Self-Esteem with Soroptimist International – Huntington Beach
- Launch our Dream It Be It Program designed to assist at risk teenage girls (13-17) in shaping their futures
- Donate more and expand the number of local and international charitable organizations we support
